In February 2024 we launched The Michael Hill Foundation to escalate our commitments to Nature Restoration and Empowering Women.
For our Nature Restoration focus, we have been proud to support One Tree Planted through sales of our LAB. Collection. Our donations continue to help One Tree Planted’s local restoration efforts where they are most needed.
Our goal is to plant 1 million trees by 2030, and we are thrilled to share that in 2024, we funded 142,868 trees planted through sales of our certified sustainable LAB. collection.

NATURE RESTORATION IN AUSTRALIA
The Michael Hill Foundation is supporting a First Nations project operated by the local Wudjari community on the coast of Western Australia near Esperance.
This area was highly degraded as a former wheat and grazing farm, and the project aims to restore native bushland by planting trees such as the Mallee Honey Myrtle, Salmon Gum, and more.
Using our 2024 donations, we’ve planted 26,391 trees here.
This 4,000 hectare former-agricultural property in Western Australia is being restored holistically by members of the local Wudjari community.
NATURE RESTORATION IN NEW ZEALAND
In New Zealand, we support a project in Waingake on the North Island, operated by Maraetaha Incorporated supported by Ngai Tāmanuhiri and the Gisborne Tairãwhiti District Council.
This project is transitioning a commercial pine forest to a native podocarp broadleaved forest, planting indigenous species including Manuka, Kahikatea and more. This will help to restore the land, improving soil erosion and water quality issues, following the damage of Cyclones Hale and Gabrielle.
Using our 2024 donations, we’ve planted 48,426 trees here.
Establishing permanent indigenous cover in Gisborne provides habitat to rare and threatened fauna.
NATURE RESTORATION IN CANADA
In Canada, The Michael Hill Foundation is contributing to the Nazko Wildfire Restoration Project in Cariboo, BC. This project aims to restore forest cover in areas damaged by the 2017 Plateau Fire, which were surveyed and found to have little to no natural regeneration coming in after the wildfire.
The project is planting trees such as Douglas Fir, Western Larch, and more. Restoring forests here will benefit a wide variety of wildlife, from cougars, bears, and moose to bald eagles.
Using our 2024 donations, we’ve planted 68,051 trees here.
Newly planted trees are replacing lost forest cover in Nazko after a devastating wildfire in 2017.
